Malta Sightseeing Buses - COY 013

COY 013 was a 1977 Daimler lleetline, fitted with ECW OH43/31F bodywork, seen operating for Garden of Eden in City Sightseeing Malta livery.  New in closed top form to Thamesdown Transport as OHR 189R. 







DBY 348

DBY 348 was a1968 Dennis Kew, new in 1968 and fitted with Daina B45F body.  Previously registered 2128, A-2128, Y-1586, Y-0886 and Y-0348.  Pictured, after restoration, in May 2013.



FBY 050

FBY 050 was a 1979 Bedford YLQ, fitted with Dupole Dominant C45F bodywork.  It was new to Tindale, trading as Low Fell Coaches, Gateshead, as OPT 471T.  It was previously registered Y-0836 on Gozo.

LCY 907

LCY 907 was a King Long XMQ6113, with King Long C49D bodywork, new to Cancu Supreme Travel in 2001.  By the time this photo was taken, May 2013, it was in the yard of Godwins Garage, Gharghur.



DBY 347

DBY 347 was an Albion CD21CXLW, fitted with a Brincat B45F body.  Previously registered Y-1591, Y-0891 and Y-0347.





FBY 049

FBY 049 was a Plaxton Supreme C53F bodied Bedford YNT, new to Tedd, Thruxton, Hampshire, as VPR 864X.  Imported to Gozo in 1993, it was issued with registration Y-0889, then Y-0814 before becoming FBY 049.

DBY 346

DBY 346 was a 1948 AEC Regal III, fitted with Zammit B40F bodywork.  New to Rickards Tours, London, W2, as HYP 309, carrying a 32 seat Plaxton coach body.  Arriving in Malta during 1962, where it was registered 921, bocoming A-0921, Y-1047 and Y-0346, before DBY 346.


DBY 346, seen in 2015.  After withdrawal from service, 346 was used as an art installation, the results seen above.


FBY 048

FBY 048 was a 1978 Bristol LH6L, fitted with Plaxton Supreme C45F bodywork, new as WJN 22S to Boon, Boreham, Essex.  Imported in 1986, and always well presented, it was withdrawn from service in 2011  after receiving major accident damage when an apparent failure of the brakes forced the driver to collide with stationary cars before hitting a wall.  Thankfully, only a couple of people were injured, not seriously. Times of Malta article here.

GVH 140

GVH 140 was a 1970 AEC Swift, fitted with Park Royal B46d body.  New to London Transport as EGN 259J, fleet number SMS259.  Previously carried Maltese registration M-1522.

GVH 140 seen at the Pembroke depot of the Education Department.

Seen parked at the Education Department Floriana depot, March 2005.



JCY 905

JCY 905 is a 1953 Leyland Royal Tiger which was new to Western Welsh as GUH 462, fleet number 462.  Rebodied by Paramount Garage in 1996, it carried Maltese registrations 1982, A-1982, Y-1605 & Y-0905.  When new, it carried a Weymann B44F body.  A picture of 905 before its'1996 rebody can be seen here.
