ACY 854

ACY 854 is a Unicar C53F bodied Bedford YMT, new in the UK to Moon, Shepshed, Leicestershire, registered EBC 567T.  Formerly registered Y-0854 in Malta.

Edit (08/04/23) - It has subsequently returned to the UK, where it was reunited with its' former registration, and carrying Paul S Winson livery.

DBY 386

DBY 386 was a Sladden DP40F bodied Bedford SB.  From an unknown date, it previously carried Maltese registrations 2681, A-2681, Y-1553, Y-0853 and Y-0386.

CCY 929

CCY 929, a 1991 Dennis Javelin, fitted with Berkhof Excellence C53F bodywork, was new to Mayne, Buckie, as J10 BCK (pictured here).  Operated by Garden of Eden Garage, it previously carried Y-0929.












This was given a conversion to open top, and was operated on City Sightseeing Malta tours, as seen here.

CCY 920

New in 1979, this Ford R1114 was new to Bee-Line, Hartlepool, as AUJ 523T, with a Plaxton Supreme C53F body.  Previously registered Y-0920 on Malta and retrofitted with an AEC AV760 engine.  It also carried the registration CCY 880.

ACY 915

ACY 915 was a 1966 AEC Reliance, new to BEA, Heathrow, as KHM 5D, which was overhauled and rebodied in 1981 with a Plaxton Supreme C53F body for Thomas, West Ewell, and then registered OPD 789W.  It also carried the registration Y-0915 on Malta and was operated by Ventura Coaches, Mellieha.

BCY 913

BCY 913 was new to Bibbys, Ingleton, North Yorkshire as D439 GAD, a 1987 Plaxton Paramount C53F bodied Bedford YNT.  Whilst in the UK, it was also registered BIB 5428 & D384 CFR, gaining the Maltese registration Y-0913 on import in 1993.  Operated by Cancu Supreme Travel.

LCY 907 was a King Long XMQ6113, with King Long C49D bodywork, new to Cancu Supreme Travel in 2001.  By the time this photo was taken, May 2013, it was in the yard of Godwins Garage, Gharghur.

JCY 905

JCY 905 is a 1953 Leyland Royal Tiger which was new to Western Welsh as GUH 462, fleet number 462.  Rebodied by Paramount Garage in 1996, it carried Maltese registrations 1982, A-1982, Y-1605 & Y-0905.  When new, it carried a Weymann B44F body.  A picture of 905 before its'1996 rebody can be seen here.

ACY 903 was a 1979 AEC Reliance, fitted with a Duple Dominant C53F body.  New as L BD 929V to Brittain, Northampton.  Previous Maltese registration was Y-0900.

LCY 900 was a Ford R1114, fitted with Caetano Alpha C53F bodywork, new in 1980 to Euro Academy, Croydon, as HAY 800V.  Y-0900 was its' previous Maltese registration.

KCY 898

KCY 898 was a  Plaxton Supreme C53F bodied Bedford YMT, new as CRW 517T to Smith, Tysoe, Warwickshire.  It previously carried Y-0898 in Malta.

ACY 894

ACY 894 is a Volvo B10M-60, registered H112 OON and new in 1990 to National Express as their 9012.  Fitted with a C46Ft Plaxton Paramount body when new, it is now probably a standard C53F for use in Malta.  It is operated by Cancu Supreme Travel.



DBY 333

DBY 333 was a 1952 Ford ET7, fitted with Xuereb B36F bodywork.  Former registrations are 614, 711, A-0711, Y-1034 and Y-0333.  It is seen in the green livery at Sliema Ferries.  Exported to the UK, it was a resident of the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust until around Christmas 2019, when it was again imported to Malta.





























DBY 333 was replaced in 2001 by a 1968 AEC Reliance, fitted with Plaxton Supreme DP47F bodywork, having been rebodied in 1979.  New as EJP 561F to Smith, Wigan, with Plaxton C44F bodywork.  Upon rebodying, it was reregistered HPG 650V and operated by Thomas of West Ewell.  It operated as an Unscheduled Bus when first exported to Malta, registered Y-0884, later becoming KCY 884, becoming route bus DBY 333 in 2001.

LCY 892

LCY 892 was a 1979 Plaxton Supreme C53F bodied Bedford YMT, new to Stanbridge Motor Services, Dorset, as CEL 104T.













Operating for the KopTaCo Cooperative, it is seen above in the early 90s and, below, in September 2005.  Previously registered Y-0892 in Malta.


FBY 034

FBY 034 was a Duple Dominant C53F bodied Bedford YMT, registered SBC 57R and new to County, Leicestershire as their fleet number 57.  Operating as an Unscheduled Bus on Malta, registered Y-0860 and LCY 860,  coming to Gozo in the year 2000 and becoming FBY 034.

KCY 890

KCY 890 was a 1987 Bedford YNT, fitted with Plaxton Paramount C53F body.















New as D370 KDB to Bullock, Cheadle, coming to Malta via County, Brentwood, Essex.  It was formerly registered 9424 RU (UK) and Y-0890 (Malta) and is seen here operating for Paramount Garage.

KCY 889

KCY 889 is a 1988 Plaxton Paramount bodied Dennis Javelin, new as 8955 RH to Hornsby, Ashby, Lincolnshire.


Later registered E270 AJL, it came to Malta in 1994, was registered Y-0889 there and is seen carrying "London Services Limited" livery, I believe operated by Cancu Supreme.

JCY 883

JCY 883 was a 1967 AEC Reliance, new to Devon General carrying a Duple Northern C49F body and registered HOD 39E, fleet number 39.


In 1979, the vehicle was rebuilt (chassis overhaul and new body fitted) and emerged as CPM 520T, with a Plaxton Supreme body.  Arriving in Malta in 1987, it joined the fleet of Zarb Coaches, an enthusiastic user of the AEC Reliance, registered Y-0883.

FBY 024



FBY 024 was a 1962 Leyland Leopard, new as 6781 DD to Black & White Roadways.  Rebuilt in 1977 and fitted with a Plaxton Supreme C53F body, it was then registered OBN 534R.

It came to Gozo after use as an unscheduled bus in Malta, carrying registration Y-0897 and Y-0809.
