KCY 879

KCY 879 was a 1979 AEC Reliance, carrying a Plaxton Supreme C55F body, new as BGY 583T to 

National Travel (London).

Previously carried Maltese registration number Y-0879.

DBY 313

 DBY 313 was a Ford ET7, dating from 1953 and fitted with a Casha B36F body.  It carried registrations 159, A-0159, Y-1014 and Y-0313.  Pictured at Buggiba Bus Station nearing its withdrawal in 2003.

Pictured below is the "new" DBY 313.  Replacing the Ford in May 2003, it is a Solaris Valletta, carrying a Solaris B45F body.  Photographed at City Gate Terminus, Valletta, in October 2010.

Seen in Luqa Industrial Estate in July 2015, and owned by Arriva Malta, DBY 313 had been reregistered BUS 563 and was relegated to driver training duties.

FBY 017

FBY 017 is a 1985 Bedford YNT, fitted with Plaxton Paramount C53F bodywork, new to Beckett, Little Horwood as D730 YNM.  It also carried 499 BHU & B483 BJO in the UK, and Y-0845 in Gozo.

Malta Sightseeing Buses - COY 002

COY 002, seen here in Vallettas' City Gate Bus Station, was new as UMR 191T, a 1978 Leyland Fleetline, fitted with ECW H43/31F body, to Thamesdown, fleet number 191.

DBY 312

DBY 312 was a 1948 Longwell Green B34R bodied AEC Regal III, new as GNY 764 to Rhonnda, as fleet number 64.  Passing to Thomas Brothers, Port Talbot, it was withdrawn in 1960, being exported to Malta and rebodied by Debono in 1963.  Originally issued with the Maltese registration of 158, it also carried A-0158, Y-1013 and Y-0312.

Withdrawn from service in 2003, when it was replaced by a new King Long, it was stored by ADT and returned to service a few years later, replacing a defective Leyland (EBY 464) and carrying the Leylands' registration.

FBY 016

FBY 016 is a 1974 Plaxton Elite C45F bodied Bedford YRQ, new as UUP 2N to Armstrong, Ebchester, County Durham.  It was imported to Malta with sister vehicle UUP 3N, which operated in Malta as EBY 607.  It also carried Y-0466 and Y-0821.

LCY 874

LCY 874 was a 1978 Ford R1114, carrying a 53 seat Duple Dominant body.  It was new to Hodge, Sandhurst, registered TPC 251S.

By July 2010, it had been replaced by a 1999 Scania L94, carrying an Irizar Century C53F body, new to Bus Eireann, Tralee,  registered 99-D-8473, in whose fleet it was numbered S136.

 

DBY 311

 DBY 311 was a 1947 Ford 6, fitted with a Aquilina B36F body.

It previously carried registrations 146, A-0146, Y-1012 & Y-0311.

In 2003 it was replaced by a new BMC Falcon.

FBY 015

FBY 015 is a 1962 Bedford SB, fitted with Zammit B36F bodywork.  It carried registrations 3095, A-3095, Y-1528 & Y-0827 previously.

 

DBY 310

DBY 310 was a 1973 Bedford YRQ, fitted with a Duple Dominant DP45F body, new as LBU 153L to Barlow, Oldham.  It previously carried the Maltese registration Y-0310.
